The Little Red Hen is a story told in rhyme and is accompanied by lively songs to provide maximum enjoyment. The story consists of very basic vocabulary with a lot of repetition to help the pupils understand and reproduce it. The text appears for teachers and parents to read out the story to the pupils. At this stage, pupils are not expected to read word by word, but they can be encouraged to follow the lines with their fingers. There is also a Picture Dictionary to be used as a point of reference. The story and the songs are recorded on the CD/cassette.
On the CD/cassette the teacher will also find the instrumental music of the songs in case he/she decides to out on an end-of-year performance.
